Eumseong-gun has led to a large-scale investment agreement with the nation’s leading companies.
On the 17th, Chungcheongbuk-do, Eumseong-gun, Hanwha Solution, and BioPlus signed an investment agreement at Cheongju Grand Plaza.
About 10 officials attended the signing ceremony, including Governor Lee Si-jong, Eumseong County Governor Cho Byung-ok, Ryu Sung-joo, president of Hanwha Q Cells’ manufacturing headquarters, and Jeong Hyun-kyu, CEO of BioPlus. Hanwha Solution Co., Ltd., which signed an investment agreement this time, plans to invest about 1 trillion won to expand solar cell and module plants in Eumseong-gun and Jincheon-gun due to the increase in the solar market.
BioPlus Co., Ltd. plans to invest about 200 billion won to relocate its existing Seongnam plant to the Seongbon Industrial Complex (about 10,000 pyeong site) in Eumseong-gun and produce fillers for wrinkles and anti-adhesion drugs.
It also plans to establish additional factories to produce improved Botox injections, diabetes treatments, and virus treatments.
In the agreement, Eumseong-gun promised active administrative support for Hanwha Solution Co., Ltd. and BioPlus Co., Ltd. to implement planned investment projects. And Hanwha Solution Co., Ltd. and BioPlus Co., Ltd. promised achieve expand investment scale, purchase of local production materials and equipment to revitalize the local economy, and hire local people first.
At the meeting, county governor Cho Byung-ok said, “The investment of Hanwha Solution Co., Ltd. and BioPlus Co., Ltd. will be a great help in overcoming the Corona economic crisis. We will spare full support for the two companies to solidify their reputation as top companies.”
Meanwhile, BioPlus Co., Ltd., which participated in the investment agreement, donated 200,000 masks worth 20 million won to the Chungbuk Community Chest of Korea.
